This page explains how Gadder uses cookies and similar technologies. Visit counting on gadder.no stores nothing in your browser and therefore does not require consent; analytics that recognises you between visits does.

Your visit is therefore counted even when you choose “Necessary only”.
Analytics that recognises you between visits requires active consent.
You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, or identifiers that read or store information on your device.
2. Current use on gadder.no
Without consent, no analytics, advertising or personalisation cookies are set on the marketing website. Your visit is still counted, using an identifier PostHog derives on its own server and which is not stored with you. Your consent choice is stored locally so the site can respect your decision. If you choose “Accept analytics”, PostHog additionally sets its own cookie that recognises your browser between visits.
Standard server logs may contain an IP address, timestamp, requested page, and technical browser information. These are not cookies, but the processing is described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Necessary technologies in the services
Privat and Proff may use strictly necessary cookies or local storage for login, security, load balancing, and remembering choices required for the service to work. These technologies may be used without consent when they are necessary for a service you expressly requested.
- Session and login: keeps you securely signed in and ends the session when it expires.
- Security: prevents misuse and protects forms and accounts.
- Consent choice: remembers whether you accepted or declined optional analytics.
- Language choice: remembers whether you selected Norwegian or English on the website.
4. Analytics
On gadder.no visits are counted whichever option you choose, but without storage on your side: the identifier is derived on PostHog's server from a daily salt, IP address, browser string and hostname, and the salt is deleted every day. If you accept analytics, a cookie is additionally set that recognises you between visits. The setup measures only page views and traffic sources, does not record sessions, does not create person profiles, does not use GeoIP and does not register custom events for forms, address selection or demos.
The product applications may use PostHog or a similar tool to understand usage patterns, errors, and where users leave a flow. Analytics that stores information on or reads information from your device is enabled only after consent. Consent must be freely given, specific, and revocable.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time under “Privacy choices” in the footer. If we later expand our analytics, we will reassess the purpose and consent requirements and update this policy before activating the change.
5. External services
Address features may send network requests to Kartverket/Geonorge, Norkart, or Gadder's own APIs. A request may provide the recipient with your IP address and technical log data, but it does not itself set a cookie on gadder.no. If you follow a link to an external site, that provider's own settings and policies apply.
6. Managing browser storage
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may prevent login or other features from working. If we request consent on the website, you can also change your choice through the same consent controls.
